Synccinema Quickie - Kaithi (Khaidi)

Image
Kaithi ( Khaidi) - Karthi 's Kaithi is a Crackling Diwali "Panch-Pataka" with the crime, thrill, angst, innocence, humour being the powder, the Technicalities and Karthi's Dilli being the spark, setting the BO ablaze. A seized ton of cocaine, an accused feudal big shot striking deals with mobs to get back his grab on it, the team of police with their lives on-line, an 80km stretch to be covered overnight on a lorry, amidst this is a freed and released Prisoner longing for the first sight of his daughter. Can the men chained to their perplex position make it through the night? Kaithi has the overarching theme of distinguishing the border between Police-criminal and Good-bad. The former has its line erased whereas the latter shapes to create a thick divide on that night. Positives - 1) Story - The narrative is a slow - poison, setting off fires of thrill mutely and ends up the first half in a nail-biting establishment of the scenario. Though the second half ...

A Milestone for a Milestone - Celebrating 15 years of Anand

Image
Anand is a well versed and for many, is "Like a Refreshing Cup of Coffee", both literally and figuratively.  Hoping that you’ve seen or faintly remembered its plot.                                                  Early mornings are a beauty, especially as rise and shine goes along with you hearing hums of a Carnatic tune, chill breeze, lush green sight, a small sit-out, a touch of fog and a cup of Coffee, that too if served by your love....feels like an outlandish Fantasy or a yearly holiday to a hill-station. Well, in Shekhar Kammula’s universe of Anand, these atmos are built at your very doorstep. “Anand completes its loving 15 long years post its release and still feels ageless. Anand will remain as a true legend and a textbook for budding writers and directors in Romantic Genre” Shekhar Kammula, by far, is ...

My take on Joker

Image
Joker - A testament to the Clown Prince of Crime                                              Memories dating back to 2008, the Nolan's Dark Knight, Micheal Caine says, " Some men aren't looking for anything logical, they cannot be borrowed, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just wanna watch the world BURN!" This movie charts down the idea and the man behind the burn. It's the story of the man who is just chaotic and vicious in normalcy. It's the story of Arthur Fleck. Rather nicknamed ironically by his mother, as Happy, is a struggling artist and a broken man, moreover a browbeaten son. He has an ailing mother to be taken care of. He's out of Cash, family, friends, job, has everything but welfare. We get to know that Arthur hasn't even been happy for one minute of his life. We also see him write notes and cracks sick jokes on his living that"H...

Image
Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya – New age Comic Detective Thriller. Release - 2019 Starring - Naveen Polishetty, Shruthi Sharma and others Director - Swaroop RSJ Written by - Swaroop RSJ and Naveen Polishetty Producer - Rahul Yadav Nakka Available on - Amazon Prime Video Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya is a private detective agent having his office addressed at Nellore Vegetable Market. Athreya with his typical mindset in this oddly typical Nellore is in search of a big case to solve as his agency as expected doesn't deal with huge numbers of cases. When one eventually reaches him, he has to embark a tougher more wrenching moves to solve the case. Ironically and also comically to establish a detective agency in a town like Nellore, where the crime has a different direction and definitions laid makes the protagonist’s job odd and out of the box. This gets complimented by Athreya’s characterization which goes hand in hand with his set up, which, also being out of the box....
