What better timing it can be to watch a Medico-Pandemic
Thriller in the times of Quarantine. Kerala’s brave-hearted Medical
Professionals and the statesmen have to stop the rapid outbreak of Nipah Virus,
which has already and is taking the lives of many.
With a riveting screenplay and excellent directing assets,
Virus sets a bar high in terms of Cinema, not only in India but also Worldwide.
The way the movie gets shot in Neon tones of OT’s Reds and Greens, signifying
that it’s just not the patients in Hospitals to have Intensively cared but the
entire public to be taken care of, making an ordeal for the Government and
Medical Professionals to grasp. You have to see it to feel it - as heroes get
churned by the end of this Gravitas Shifting Saga.
A physically
dysfunctional yet mentally gleeful, lonely man (Kamal Hassan), befriends a
Handsome yet emotionally inexpressive youth (Madhavan) in an unusual
circumstance only to embark a journey of getting to know each other’s complex
as well as the world of Dichotomy they live in. The oddly fit companions get
answered with the questions their lives were rattled with.
Anbe Sivam / Sathyame Sivam is an eye-opener about the
Rhetoric Nature of Living life. With a frivolous approach and clean screenplay
(by Kamal Hassan), the film poetically excels in driving its point or rather
points into our hearts. A movie where the moral compass and humanity are broken
and yet joined again by love for a being - as the name suggests “ Love is the
true God”.

Tamil Version is available on Prime Video
This movie is India’s version of pure Horror Films. Making a
Genre film in India is difficult, especially when it comes to Horror, which
gets overly saturated by Comedy, even this mixture of Genre’s not put out
properly like or isn’t always re-watchable.

This movie washes all these extra inclusions and seriously
commits to haunt the audience. Its commitment is evident right from the basic
story level to its dazzling but eerie production design. The movie strikes the
right chords to become a Horror Flick and isn’t shying away from bloodshed and
body slicing. It’s definitely an edge of the seat business and deserves a
watch.

Did the leeway for this decades comedy restrict our classic
sitcom to fly with some unwanted wings?
Or Do we have to get used to this new-age presentation of
our homely Amrutham Universe?
Clearly, visual artistry and technical brilliance was never
a concern for Amrutham. It stands firm for the witty writing and smartly
provocative and creative comedy and the cast’s performances. Amrutham proved
that mockery and comedy if done with professionalism and intelligence will
succeed no matter how poor the presentation may be ( Amutham Season 1 was shot
in a shoe-string budget on a 480i format).
But this new Season of Amrutham has many chains dangling
around its neck. We have lavish set-pieces, beautified lighting set-up and
overly indulgent background Music – while the writing still is respectable in
it's standards. The elephant in the room being,
Anji’s character not played by Late Gundu Hanumantha Rao. This new
casting choice for Anji will take time getting used to, maybe, even the
alienating aspects said before will take time getting used to, until then it’ll
just be a very glad feeling that we’re getting a continuation for the Nostalgic
Amrutham – The literal elixir in the times of Done-to-Dust TV Serials back
then.
The TV Series with both Season 1 and 2 is on Zee5
It takes guts to step out to bat in the ground where the crowd’s specifically booing one and targeting oneself to become prey for their
words. This TV series takes you into those moments and many more. It’s an
absorbing Cricketing Docu-Drama about the sportsmanship and the sport itself as
to how ruthless it can turn out to be.
This TV series the cricketing life of the Australian players
post the ’18 ball-tampering scandal for 18 months, we move through their highs
and lows, their pride and overconfidence, their kinship and diversities in
playing. It’s more than aptly directed and excellently collaged as a 9 episode
Season with the ultimate aim of “Playing is larger than Winning”.
The TVSeries is on Prime Video
